OH MY GOD !

everyone fall sick recently. is it cause of the weather or what ? seems that the H1N1 case gone darn serious. sigh

i felt slightly sore throat few hours ago. perhaps little bit fever ? lols .... HELL NO !

since im quite free now, gonna share some information with you guys. may be there're still people outside there didnt care much bout it. it's about the general knowledge that we need to know about the H1N1.


What is the A (H1N1) influenza?

It is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A strains of the influenza virus. It regularly causes high flu outbreaks in pigs but with low death rates. There are four main sub-types of the virus, but the most recent isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.

How does it spread ?
Influenza A (H1N1) viruses do not typically infect humans though they do occur through close proximity or contact with infected pigs or contaminated areas. Cases of human-to-human spread have been documented.

What are the symptoms ?
The symptoms are similar to those of regular flu:

- Fever

- Lethargy

- Runny nose

- Cough

- Sore throat

- Lack of appetite

- Vomiting and diarrhoea in some cases.

How common is the A (H1N1) flu infection in humans ?
In the past reports of about one human A(H1N1) flu virus infection had been received every one to two years in the United States. From December 2005 till February 2009, 12 cases have been reported.

Has this strain of flu been seen before ?
No. Flu mutates constantly, so it is common for new strains to emerge. Pigs can also be infected with both human and avian influenza, and the current circulating A (H1N1) flu strain appears to contain genetic elements from all three.

Can the A (H1N1) flu be treated with antiviral drugs and flu vaccine ?
The A (H1N1) flu is resistant to two common drugs – Amantadine and Rimantadine. The A (H1N1) flu viruses are very different from human H1N1 viruses. Therefore, vaccines for human seasonal flu would not provide protection. However, a “seed vaccine” has been specifically tailored to this swine flu and will be manufactured if officials deem it necessary.

Can people catch A (H1N1) flu by eating pork ?
No. The A (H1N1) influenza viruses are not transmitted by food. Eating properly handled and cooked pork and pork products is safe. Cooking pork to an internal temperature of 70ºC and above kills the swine flu virus.

How long is someone with the A (H1N1) flu considered contagious ?
People with the A (H1N1) influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic; possibly for up to seven days following the onset of the illness. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

What can I do to protect myself from the A (H1N1) flu ?
There is no vaccine available right now to protect against the A (H1N1) flu.
However, you can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza by:
- Covering your nose and mouth with a disposable tissue or handkerchief when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the waste basket after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also helpful
- Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

- If you get sick with influenza, stay at home and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
- Consult your nearest healthcare facility if you think you have any of the symptoms.

♠ Football Field Became Table Tennis

i was supposed to hand in a handcraft for sports assignment last friday
me and jolyn were in the same group
and we did managed to complete it
we planned everything well but due to some reasons
jolyn was quite busy for extra classes and volley ball practice, me too ( busy for studies, eat & sleep ) =D
we keep on procrastinate it until right on friday - the due day. its because of the insufficient of time. haha

we went for lunch after class ended. luckily the QS lecture had been cancelled. or else, we would never know how to do for that handcraft already. perhaps i'll skip the class ? haha.
after walked back to jolyn's hostel, we started to do the model for the football field, as what we've planned.

while i was drawing the white line for the field, the stupid white marker keep cannot function well. for few times, i shaked it. OHH MY GOD ! i have no idea what i've done. shaked it without the caps ? what's on my mind ?? ZZZ. end up, it spilt out. dirty the floor d er. feel so sorry to jolyn.

the most importantly, field also kena d. ahhhh ~ thats sad ! my fault. and we realised something. we measured wrong scale already. aiks. forgot to count in the goal area. down.
at last, plan changed. turned to make something easier which is the table tennis. aww ... screw the football field. say bye bye to it. lols. it would be really damn cute and nice if we manage to complete it ! aiks .... we really should just paste that greeny thing on the card board. hmmm. no point regretting d. our table tennis model quite nice though. =)

♠ Still Alive

hey everyone

still remember me ?

haha ... lame much. what a prologue xD
i'd promise to update my blog and i do keep my vow to it right ?

just that it's a little bit late update. *teehees

eversince i step into Tarc, i was like OH-SO-SPEECHLESS about everything about it. canteen's food sucks. classroom's air cond down. study room is like a market. so on. and recently, it comes up with silly rule - dress attire. guys have to wear long pants and sport shoes. or else, they're not allowed to attend classes. that's much more ridiculous for girls. so much restrictions for the tops. no spaghetti, no tubes, no shorts, no skirts and bla bla bla. how are we suppose to study in such condition as the weather is so damn hot now and the so-down-air-cond-system in the college ? -.-

oh well, enough complaints about these. lets see what have i been up to for the past few study weeks.

everything started quite smoothly at first. but till around week 3 & 4, homeworks and assignments started piling up. sometimes, i'll just get pissed off easily cause of all these stupid works.

i just passed my first presentation for Hubungan Etnik last friday. as from what our tutor said, she's not satisfied with our performance. thats just because we didn't met her requirement, which is 5min presenting. aiya, whatsoever. that was a last minute preparation, so i guess there's nothing much to be upset bout the marks thats going to be given out. expected already right ? ^^

a hectic life for this week it is. 4 tests all together in a week ! MAD.

grammar test, Quantitative Studies test, Accounting test & Hubungan Etnik test. LOL

i got insufficient of time for answering my QS. its just about for me to finish it. and i did some small mistake.

as for accounting, there's only 1 word to describe it. CONFUSING it is. totally no idea about it. accounting is not my cup of tea. i hate accounting la ..... *sobs

and again, i am free from test stress !!! WOOHOOO ~

no worries again. no stress. no pressure. but for sure, i still need to keep up with my studies. another assignment due is reaching and soon there will be tests on week 10 which is approximately 2 weeks from now. i also need to go for volleyball practice for extra two weeks in order to do for the assignment stuff. have to write a report for practical thingy. :S

i guess thats enough for the updates bout my studies. =)
